The GOP won’t investigate ICE or Epstein’s friends — but they’re going after Bad Bunny.
Republicans in Congress are launching an official probe into Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, falsely claiming it featured “pornographic” content — despite the lyrics being bleeped and none of the explicit lines actually performed.
THE BACKGROUND: During Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show, Bad Bunny highlighted Puerto Rican culture with nods to icons like Daddy Yankee and El Gran Combo — and even passed his Grammy to a young fan. But MAGA lawmakers immediately attacked the show for supposed “indecency.”
THE DETAILS:
- Rep. Randy Fine said he’ll push for the FCC to investigate and fine the NFL, NBC, and Bad Bunny.
- Fine accused the show of airing “disgusting and pornographic filth,” even though his claims rely on translations of songs that weren’t actually sung.
- Rep. Andy Ogles claimed kids were “forced to endure” the performance and called for a House inquiry into NBCUniversal.
Meanwhile, Rep. Mark Alford went full Fox News conspiracy, saying the show might be “much worse than the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction.”

REALITY CHECK:
- Bad Bunny didn’t say the F-word.
- Lyrics with sexual references were censored.
- The show was a cultural celebration — not a sex show.
THE BIG PICTURE: This is part of a larger Republican culture war. After years of ignoring actual threats — like white supremacist violence, school shootings, or climate disaster — the GOP is now targeting… a Puerto Rican pop star who sang in Spanish.
Yes, they’re literally investigating a Grammy-winning artist for dancing and waving the Puerto Rican flag.
ZOOM OUT: Right-wing leaders who claim to love “free speech” are trying to censor an artist for being proudly Latino — and for performing in a language they don’t understand.
While millions celebrated representation on the Super Bowl stage, House Republicans are weaponizing government resources to push their anti-immigrant, anti-queer, and anti-culture agenda.
