A handwritten letter allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein to convicted child sexual abuser Larry Nassar has surfaced in newly released Justice Department records—and it contains a disturbing reference to Donald Trump.

WHAT’S GOING ON: The letter, addressed to “L.N.” and postmarked August 13, 2019—just three days after Epstein was found dead in his jail cell—was released Tuesday as part of a tranche of DOJ files.

According to Metro Times, it reads: “Dear L.N., As you know by now, I have taken the ‘short route’ home. Good luck! We shared one thing … our love and caring for young ladies and the hope they’d reach their full potential. Our President also shares our love of young, nubile girls.” The letter ends with “Life is unfair” and is signed “J. Epstein.”

THE DETAILS: The envelope was addressed to Nassar at a federal prison in Arizona and marked “return to sender” because he was no longer at that facility, according to FBI documents. The letter was intercepted at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan.

In July 2020, the FBI requested a handwriting analysis to determine whether Epstein actually wrote the letter—but the released documents don’t include the results of that analysis.

BUT BUT BUT: In a statement on Twitter, the Department of Justice insisted that the letter was fake. But who really knows the truth when your administration lies about everything—big and small?

It’s unclear whether Epstein and Nassar had any personal relationship. Nassar, a former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor, is serving a 60-year federal sentence after more than 150 women and girls testified that he sexually abused them under the guise of medical treatment.

ZOOM OUT: This isn’t the only Trump-adjacent revelation in the new Epstein files. A separate lawsuit from the document dump alleges Epstein met his first known victim at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan when she was 13, and later brought her to Mar-a-Lago, where he introduced her to Trump. That lawsuit was filed in 2020 and later settled. Trump has denied wrongdoing and hasn’t been charged in connection with Epstein.

BOTTOM LINE: Whether Epstein actually wrote this letter remains officially unconfirmed.

But the fact that it exists in federal records—with its explicit claim that Trump shares a “love of young, nubile girls” with two convicted predators—is now part of the public record. And in case you forgot: this man is currently the President of the United States.
