Trump’s 28-Year-Old Propaganda Chief is Pregnant with 60-Year-Old Husband’s Baby

    Published on

Karoline Leavitt, the 28-year-old White House press secretary who serves as the youngest person to ever hold the position, announced she’s expecting her second child with her 60-year-old husband Nicholas Riccio. The baby girl is due in May 2026.

THE DETAILS: Leavitt shared the news on Instagram with photos of herself in a white sweater dress in front of a Christmas tree, calling motherhood “the closest thing to Heaven on Earth.”

A senior White House official told Fox News she’ll remain in her role, which would make her the first pregnant press secretary in history. She and Riccio already have an 18-month-old son, Niko.

OF COURSE: This announcement comes just weeks after Leavitt’s own nephew’s mother—Bruna Caroline Ferreira, a DACA recipient who came to the U.S. from Brazil when she was 6 years old—was detained by ICE while picking up her 11-year-old son from school.

That child? Leavitt is his godmother. Ferreira, who was “shuffled around the entire country” by federal agents before being released, had some pointed words for Leavitt: “You are a mother now. How would you feel if you were in those, in my shoes?”

Leavitt has refused to comment publicly on the arrest. A source told People she hasn’t spoken with Ferreira “in many years”—which is quite the thing to say about the woman who chose you as her child’s godmother “over my sister.”

ZOOM OUT: Leavitt returned to work for Trump’s 2024 campaign just days after giving birth to her first child, inspired by the July 13 assassination attempt on Trump.

She’s been a reliable mouthpiece for the administration’s immigration crackdown—the same policies that separated her nephew from his mother for weeks.

BOTTOM LINE: There’s something almost too on-the-nose about a woman who spends her days defending mass deportations celebrating her growing family while her own godson’s mother faces expulsion from the only country she’s ever known.

Ferreira put it best: “Just because you went to a Catholic school doesn’t make you a good Catholic.”
