MAGA is so desperate to take down New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani that they’ve resorted to spreading AI-generated images and claiming Jeffrey Epstein is his father. Yes, really.
WHAT’S GOING ON: After the Justice Department released a massive dump of new Epstein files on Friday, conservative influencers started circulating obviously fake photos created by a parody account showing Mamdani as a baby and child alongside Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, Bill Clinton, and other high-profile figures.

The images spread like wildfire—the above post alone racked up 22 million views—and now protesters are literally showing up outside Mamdani’s house because they believe this nonsense.

Here’s the thing: the images are completely fake. They originated from an X account explicitly labeled as parody that describes itself as “an AI-powered meme engine.”
The account that posted the original fake photo is literally called “Dumb F— Finder” – which of course meant Alex Jones fell for it.

Google’s Gemini app detected SynthID watermarks on all the images, confirming they were created using AI. The account even acknowledged making them, posting: “Damn you guys failed. I purposely made him a baby which would technically make this pic 34 years old. Yikes.”

THE DETAILS: The fake photos show various configurations of Mamdani, his mother (acclaimed filmmaker Mira Nair), Epstein, Maxwell, Clinton, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates in settings ranging from city streets to tropical locales. In one particularly absurd image, Epstein is holding Clinton in his arms like a baby. In another, Nair and Epstein are looking at an ultrasound.

The timeline doesn’t even remotely work. In the images, Mamdani appears as a baby or young child. But the kernel of truth this conspiracy latched onto—an email mentioning Nair at a party—is from 2009, when Mamdani was 18 years old. Not exactly baby age.
BUT BUT BUT: Mamdani’s mom IS mentioned once in the Epstein files. A publicist emailed Epstein saying she “just left Ghislane’s townhouse after party for film” and listed attendees including “Bill Clinton and Jeff Bezos… director Mira Nair… etc.” That’s it. One mention of her attending a film industry party hosted by Maxwell, who was a prominent New York socialite at the time.

Somehow that brief reference spiraled into claims that Epstein is Mamdani’s actual father—which is obviously, demonstrably false. Mamdani’s father is Mahmood Mamdani, a well-known anthropology professor at Columbia University.
OF COURSE: The same people spreading AI-generated images to smear Mamdani are conspicuously silent about the person who IS all over the actual Epstein files: Donald Trump. The hypocrisy is staggering but entirely predictable.
WHY IT MATTERS: This is what happens when AI manipulation meets political desperation. Millions of people are seeing fake images presented as real evidence, and it’s translating into real-world harassment of a democratically elected official. The fact that the images were clearly watermarked as AI and came from a self-described parody account didn’t stop them from going viral and being treated as legitimate.
BOTTOM LINE: MAGA couldn’t find real dirt on Mamdani in the Epstein files, so they made some up. Be extremely skeptical of any “bombshell” images you see online—especially ones that seem too perfectly damning to be true. Because increasingly, they aren’t.
