TOP STORY

Trump goes MIA for a week, corporate media completely ignores it

One of the only photos of Trump to come out in the last week.

Donald Trump, the oldest person ever to assume the presidency, has been completely missing for the past week—and capitalist media are completely ignoring it.

THE DETAILS: The last time the 78-year-old president was seen for any extended length of time or made on-camera remarks was last Tuesday during a cabinet meeting where his sycophantic cronies heaped praise on the would-be dictator.

Since then, Trump has held no public events and kept the press far away.

The White House claims he’s been holding private meetings and (of course) golfing. The only photos the press has been able to grab of him have been from a distance, supposedly heading to his Virginia golf club.

WHY THIS IS UNUSUAL: Trump loves the spotlight and typically never shies away from the press. In fact, in the first month of his second term, Trump took over a thousand questions from the press, seven times more than his predecessor.

So, this begs the question, why would the made-for-TV, reality show president now suddenly slink away from the spotlight?

Social media is awash in conspiracies, ranging from at-a-distance-diagnoses to speculation he’s already dead.

Of course, Trump has been posting on his failing social media platform, but some internet sleuths also believe that’s a ruse. Also, video of a mysterious bag falling from a White House window has sparked wild rumors.

The blackout comes as questions continue to swirl about mysterious, re-appearing bruises on his hands and swollen cankles, and a week after J.D. Vance told USA Today he’s ‘ready to be president.’

MEANWHILE… The fourth estate has been derelict in its duty (as usual). Despite lighting up social media feeds, this massive story has gotten next-to-zero coverage from capitalist media companies.

As former Politico editor Garrett Graff noted on Monday, there wasn't "a single story" covering the topic "on the homepage of The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, or CNN” over the weekend.

WHAT’S NEXT: Late last night, the White House announced Trump would be making an announcement at 2 p.m. ET today. They have not said anything about what this announcement could be about. Will we finally get the truth?

OH AND: As the liberal Gen-Z influencer Harry Sisson noted, “Never forget how MAGA treated Joe Biden and his health. They demanded new tests every week. But when Trump disappears for a week, has bruises all over his hands, ankles swollen, clearly mentally declining, and more, they are quiet. It’s gross hypocrisy.”

GO DEEPER: Six serious questions about Trump’s health the public demands answers to from former Politico editor Garrett Graff.

They’re a private company, but Pacaso just reserved the Nasdaq ticker “$PCSO.”

No surprise the same firms that backed Uber, eBay, and Venmo already invested in Pacaso. What is unique is Pacaso is giving the same opportunity to everyday investors. And 10,000+ people have already joined them.

Workers rise up against Trump and billionaire rule in nationwide Labor Day protests

Across the U.S., more than a thousand rallies over the weekend brought workers into the streets to reject Trump’s billionaire-backed agenda and demand power for ordinary people. From New York to Chicago to Houston, protesters called for a living wage, stronger unions, and an end to corporate greed, reminding the country that rights are never handed down by the powerful—they’re won through struggle. Poll shows Americans no longer buying capitalism’s false promise

A cornerstone lie of capitalism is crumbling before our eyes: the vast majority of Americans no longer think that if you work hard, you will get ahead. A new Wall Street Journal poll released today found that 70% of Americans no longer believe in the capitalist “American Dream,” a sentiment that cuts across age, income, and party. Trump carries out largest act of union busting in U.S. history

Trump has moved to void collective bargaining protections for nearly half a million federal employees, from V.A. nurses to food safety inspectors, under the guise of “national security.” Labor leaders call it an unprecedented attack on unions that endangers workers, weakens public services, and signals to private employers that union-busting is fair game.

A former political director of the AFL-CIO said, “This is literally the largest act of union busting in American history. There’s not another time when that many people lost their union.” Full story from The New York Times (unlocked for NOTICE News readers).

Democrats scramble for a redistricting counteroffensive against Trump

Facing Trump’s ruthless bid to lock in GOP minority control through gerrymandering, Democrats are weighing aggressive tactics once considered taboo—from dismantling independent commissions to pressing blue-state governors into the fight. But with Republicans freer to redraw maps in key states, the party risks looking timid to its base as Trump and his allies press ahead with a blatant power grab. Full story from Politico.

GENOCIDE UPDATE

Details leak of Trump’s ethnic cleansing plan for Gaza

Editor’s note: This week we are starting this new feature to cover the biggest, ongoing story affecting our world right now: The Israeli-American genocide of Gaza.

  • Over the weekend, we learned the Trump administration is floating an ethnic-cleansing plan for Gaza that would make some of his friends very, very rich while robbing indigenous Palestinians of their native land. It’s a 21st century version of the Trail of Tears.

  • At least 40 more people have been killed already today in Gaza as Israel steps up its attack against Gaza City, the largest city in Gaza.

  • Gaza’s Health Ministry says 13 more people, including three children, have starved to death in the last 24 hours. That brings the total number of hunger-related deaths to 361, 130 of them children. (Al Jazeera)

🗳️ Last week’s poll results

Following America’s latest school shooting, we asked, is it time to ban assault weapons again? Overwhelmingly, you said YES.

Al voted yes and said, “It amazes me that we actually need to have this discussion. Not only is it time to ban assault style weapons, but it is time to place common sense gun laws and have each gun sold in the US registered. Straw gun sales should also be stopped. There are more guns (393 million) in the US than there are people (326 million). That is 120 guns for every 100 people… Just a crazy stat.”

Cheryl also voted yes: “When will our nation love our children more than it loves guns?”

VJ voted yes and said: “It's way past time. Those weapons are made to kill mass numbers of people. If you are not in the military, you don't need an assault weapon. If you need one to hunt, then you have no business hunting to begin with. Children's right to live is more important than the right to own an assault weapon.”
