Trump Sends Unhinged Christmas Message to Half of Country

Nothing says “peace on earth, goodwill toward men” quite like the President of the United States calling half the country “Radical Left Scum” on Christmas morning.

Donald Trump posted his annual holiday rage-tweet on Wednesday, continuing a tradition that would make even the Grinch say “maybe dial it back a notch.”

WHAT’S GOING ON: “Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly,” Trump wrote on social media.

Last year it was “radical Left Lunatics.” In 2023, he raged at the “evil” and “sick” “THUGS” in the Biden administration. The man really commits to his Christmas character work.

THE DETAILS: After the name-calling, Trump launched into a greatest-hits list of claims: record stock market, lowest crime in decades, “No Inflation,” 4.3 GDP growth.

While some of these claims check out—the stock market has hit records and murder rates have declined—the overall message was less “tidings of comfort and joy” and more “unhinged political rally in your grandmother’s living room.”

OF COURSE: This is extremely on-brand. The man who campaigned on being a Christian warrior for the faithful has spent every single Christmas of his political career using the holiday as an opportunity to attack his perceived enemies.

As one observer noted: “What would Jesus do? Cause I’m sure it isn’t this.”

THE BOTTOM LINE: The responses basically wrote themselves. “Nothing more Christian than to be a hateful wretched fuck on Jesus’s birthday! Representing the faith well Mr. President!” wrote one commenter.

Another: “Not sure I’m getting ‘Merry Christmas’ vibes here.” Perhaps the most telling reaction: “I always have to click the profile to make sure this is the real account and this is a real post.”

When people can’t tell if the President’s actual words are parody, that’s not a communication success—that’s a symptom. Merry Christmas, indeed.

Trump Launches Christmas Airstrike in Nigeria, Calls It "Terror & Fear"

In addition to that deranged Christmas message, Donald Trump spent Christmas Day announcing "powerful and deadly" strikes on ISIS targets in Nigeria while wishing "MERRY CHRISTMAS" to "terrorist scum." The 79-year-old president couldn't resist his signature branding, claiming militants targeted "innocent Christians" in northwest Nigeria. OF COURSE: Trump's using religious persecution as cover while experts note his pattern of "resource imperialism" from Venezuela to Greenland shows what he's really after—control and extraction. ICE Agents Storm Women's Bathroom: "Pull Your Pants Up!"

Immigration enforcement under Trump has reached dystopian new lows: ICE agents broke into a women's bathroom during an operation, ordering occupants to "pull your pants up" while searching for targets. This isn't immigration enforcement—it's state terror designed to traumatize immigrant communities into submission. December became the deadliest month in the deadliest year for deaths in ICE custody, as Trump's goons violate constitutional rights with impunity. Full story from The New Republic

Federal Judge Blocks Trump From Stripping Homeland Security Funds

A federal judge said "not so fast" to Trump's latest authoritarian money grab, blocking the White House from slashing homeland security funding to Democratic states. SURPRISE—Trump was trying to punish blue states for refusing to collaborate with his deportation machine. The ruling is a temporary check on Trump's weaponization of federal dollars, BUT the administration's already appealing because fascists don't take no for an answer. Full story from The Guardian

Hawaii Upholds Climate Tax on Cruise Ships (Good)

A federal judge upheld Hawaii's groundbreaking climate change tax on cruise passengers—the nation's first levy designed to help cope with rising seas and wildfires. The cruise industry, naturally, tried to sink the tax before it takes effect in 2026 because god forbid massive polluters contribute to fixing the climate they're destroying. Hawaii's getting pounded by climate impacts while cruise companies rake in billions, so yeah, they can pay up. Full story from Associated Press

🗳️ Wednesday’s poll results

On Wednesday we asked, do you think Epstein was lying in that letter? Overwhelmingly you thought NO (97.46%).

Salas voted no and said: “I believe that any man that spent lots of time with Epstein is only after one thing. Epstein trafficked minors and young ladies.”

Roses wrote: “It’s clear that Trump is a pedophile.”

SES wrote: “He hung out with Epstein for years . He at least knew about stuff and never said anything. I think he participated.”
