New Epstein Letter Could Further Implicate Trump

A handwritten letter allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein to convicted child sexual abuser Larry Nassar has surfaced in newly released Justice Department records—and it contains a disturbing reference to Donald Trump.

WHAT'S GOING ON: The letter, addressed to "L.N." and postmarked August 13, 2019—just three days after Epstein was found dead in his jail cell—was released Tuesday as part of a tranche of DOJ files.

According to Metro Times, it reads: "Dear L.N., As you know by now, I have taken the 'short route' home. Good luck! We shared one thing … our love and caring for young ladies and the hope they'd reach their full potential. Our President also shares our love of young, nubile girls." The letter ends with "Life is unfair" and is signed "J. Epstein."

THE DETAILS: The envelope was addressed to Nassar at a federal prison in Arizona and marked "return to sender" because he was no longer at that facility, according to FBI documents. The letter was intercepted at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan.

In July 2020, the FBI requested a handwriting analysis to determine whether Epstein actually wrote the letter—but the released documents don't include the results of that analysis.

BUT BUT BUT: In a statement on Twitter, the Department of Justice insisted that the letter was fake. But who really knows the truth when your administration lies about everything—big and small?

It’s unclear whether Epstein and Nassar had any personal relationship. Nassar, a former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor, is serving a 60-year federal sentence after more than 150 women and girls testified that he sexually abused them under the guise of medical treatment.

ZOOM OUT: This isn't the only Trump-adjacent revelation in the new Epstein files. A separate lawsuit from the document dump alleges Epstein met his first known victim at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan when she was 13, and later brought her to Mar-a-Lago, where he introduced her to Trump. That lawsuit was filed in 2020 and later settled. Trump has denied wrongdoing and hasn't been charged in connection with Epstein.

BOTTOM LINE: Whether Epstein actually wrote this letter remains officially unconfirmed.

But the fact that it exists in federal records—with its explicit claim that Trump shares a "love of young, nubile girls" with two convicted predators—is now part of the public record. And in case you forgot: this man is currently the President of the United States.

Supreme Court Hands Trump Rare Defeat, Blocks National Guard Deployment in Chicago

In a 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court told Trump he can't just deploy the National Guard to American cities whenever he feels like it—even with three of his own appointees joining the majority. Trump claimed "rebellion" to justify sending troops to intimidate immigration protesters in Chicago, but the Court actually read the 1903 Militia Act and found (SURPRISE) it requires the actual military to be overwhelmed first, not just federal agents facing some protesters with signs. California officials called it a "huge sigh of relief," though Justices Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch dissented because of course they did. Full story from Los Angeles Times

Israeli Defense Minister Announces Permanent Military Occupation of Gaza, Violating Ceasefire

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz declared that Israeli forces will "never leave all of Gaza" and announced plans to establish military units in northern Gaza—directly violating the US-backed ceasefire deal Israel signed just months ago that required full military withdrawal. He made these comments while approving 1,200 new illegal settlement units in the West Bank, openly bragging that Netanyahu's government is in a "practical sovereignty era" of land theft, because of course the quiet part is now just the whole speech. Erika Kirk Caught Lying on National TV

Erika Kirk, who took over Turning Point USA after her husband Charlie Kirk's death, claimed on CBS News that she "never dated" and doesn't drink—except TikTok sleuths quickly dug up her old social media posts featuring multiple exes and footage of her drinking on Bravo's Summer House. The woman now touring to promote a book about "honoring the Sabbath" apparently forgot the commandment about bearing false witness, but hey, she's already pledged to help get "my husband's friend JD Vance" elected in 2028, so the grift must go on. Turning Point's "Conference of Clowns" Descends Into Full-Scale MAGA Food Fight

Wingnut Christmas came early when Charlie Kirk's Turning Point AmericaFest—billed as a "celebration of faith and freedom"—turned into what observers called a "grievance Olympics" where MAGA orcs tore chunks out of each other. Ben Shapiro labeled Steve Bannon "a PR flack for Jeffrey Epstein," Tucker Carlson called Shapiro pompous, and Candace Owens was deemed too unhinged to even invite. Meanwhile, widow Erika Kirk glided through the carnage in gold lamé, dropped a bizarre AI music video, and announced her dead husband was "sitting in one of those back seats." The fracture is real, folks. Full story from Common Dreams

🗳️ Yesterday’s poll results

Yesterday we asked, will 60 Minutes ever recover from this disaster? Overwhelmingly, you voted NO (84.81%).

CAdkins voted no and said: “60 Minutes has demonstrated they are not dedicated to uncovering the truth. They are weak capitulating minions.”

Pat wrote: “I hope not. CBS used to be my go to for news. Not anymore. I am disgusted with them bending over for the criminal in the White House.”

Tom laid it out: “Let’s get this straight. If you want to hit CBS, and Fox, where it will have the most impact then stop watching anything, including football. Stop watching all regular network programming and cancel any streaming services. “
