TOP STORY
Trump says he never had ‘privilege’ to visit island where children were raped

After over ten years of bullsh*t, it’s hard to imagine that Donald Trump could still say something would shock us. But yesterday—he did.
WHAT’S GOING ON: Speaking to reporters on his golf trip to Scotland, Trump was asked again about his long relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
He claimed, unprompted, that he never had the “privilege” of visiting Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean. He said:
I never went to the island and Bill Clinton went there supposedly 28 times… I never had the privilege of going to his island. And I did turn it down, but a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island. Uh in one of my very good moments, I turned it down.
WHY IT MATTERS: The island Trump never had the “privilege” to visit was the place Epstein allegedly groomed, sexually assaulted, imprisoned, and trafficked underage girls.
Some of the children abused were as young as 14, though airport security staff claimed to have seen Epstein taking preteen girls to the island as well.
The abuse was so bad, one 15-year-old victim even tried to swim her way off the island.
It should go without saying, but visiting this island—where young children were imprisoned and raped—was not a privilege. It is a heinous crime—and would be punished if the offenders weren’t rich and powerful.
ALSO: Trump also claimed that Bill Clinton visited the island 28 times. That claim has not been substantiated by official travel logs or credible evidence—and Clinton has denied the charge (though the two were friends).
OH, AND: Because Donald Trump and co. can’t keep their lies straight, Trump also offered up a new reason as to why he and Epstein stopped talking years ago.
His team had previously said Epstein was removed from Mar-a-Lago for being a “creep,” while other reporting claimed Trump and Epstein had a falling out over a real estate deal (not the child rape allegations, mind you).
Trump claimed yesterday he removed Epstein from his club because Epstein “stole people who worked" for him.
His full, baffling quote:
For years I wouldn't talk to Jeffrey Epstein. I wouldn't talk because he did something that was inappropriate. He hired help and I said don't ever do that again. He stole people that work for me. I said, "Don't ever do that again." He did it again and I threw him out of the place. Persona non grata, I threw him out and that was it.
ZOOM OUT: It’s unclear what exactly he was referring to—none of the corporate journalists in the room asked a follow-up like, what the f*ck are you talking about?
But Virginia Giuffre, who was sexually abused by Epstein, said Ghislaine Maxwell recruited her while she was working at Mar-a-Lago as a 16-year-old spa attendant.
Giuffre died by suicide in April.
BOTTOM LINE: It is truly appalling that any person would use such language to defend their relationship with a child rapist—let alone the most powerful person in the world. It is truly disgusting.
The people deserve to know what happened with Jeffrey Epstein—and his victims deserve justice.
There are countless people right now walking free who either committed unthinkable crimes with this man, helped him cover it up, or looked the other way. All should be brought to justice.

5 dead after gunman opens fire in NYC, blames NFL in suicide note
A former football player opened fire inside a Manhattan office tower Monday evening—killing four before taking his own life. Shane Tamura, 27, who had a history of mental illness, left behind a suicide note alleging he suffered from CTE. He claimed, “You can’t go against the NFL, they’ll squash you.” Full story from CNN.
Trump calls out 'real starvation' in Gaza, vows more aid
Trump just publicly contradicted Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu—saying children in Gaza are suffering “real starvation” and vowing to send more aid. That’s a sharp break from Netanyahu’s bald-faced lie that “there is no starvation in Gaza.” The move signals rising pressure, even from allies, as images of starving children fuel global outrage over Israel’s blockade. Let’s pray the aid comes through. Full story from NPR.
Trump’s cases against L.A. protesters collapse due to massive ICE lies
Federal prosecutors are dropping charges against L.A. protesters after video evidence torched DHS claims—revealing that ICE agents fabricated reports to justify felony arrests. It's a major blow to Trump’s anti-immigrant crackdown, exposing how federal agents are willing to lie to jail dissent. Seven cases down. More could follow. Full story from The New Republic.
Judge blocks Trump’s move to defund Planned Parenthood
A federal judge just ordered the Trump administration to keep Medicaid money flowing to Planned Parenthood, slamming the GOP's latest attempt to gut reproductive care. The ruling halts a provision in Trump’s tax bill that would’ve forced clinic closures and stripped health services from over a million low-income patients. The war on abortion is coming for birth control, STI testing, and cancer screenings next. Full story from The Guardian.
Trump tells federal workers: evangelize at the office
A new memo from the Trump administration urges federal workers to openly talk religion on the job—encouraging proselytizing and prayer circles at your cubicle, as long as it’s “not harassing.” Critics say it’s a greenlight for workplace coercion and right-wing Christian dominance of public institutions. Separation of church and state? Never heard of her. Full story from The Washington Post.

🗳️ Yesterday’s poll results
Yesterday we asked, given the worsening situation in Gaza, should the U.S. end military aid to Israel?

Audrey voted yes: “Netanyahu is a war criminal, making it a crime to support him.”
Lanken also voted yes: “The U.S. is complicit in genocide perpetrated by Israel. We MUST stop.”
BC voted yes and said: “I do not support the genocide that is being perpetrated by Israel. Israel is and has been the perpetrator of this war. It needs to stop and Trump needs to take his eyes off using the Gaza Strip for a recreation area for him and his buddies.”
