Introduction
The food! The ads! Rhianna! And, oh yeah… a game.
Sound: “Touchdown Eagles!”
We’ll take a look at all the preparations underway for Super Bowl 57. Plus – Greg is here with the weekly Notice News quiz. All that and more today on… Notice News.
Super Bowl Weekend
Hey guys and happy Friday from Notice HQin Brooklyn, I’m Jonathan.
So, will *you* be watching the big game on Sunday? It’s expected that over 100 million Americans will tune in to watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Phoenix.
And while we’re watching the game, law enforcement will be watching everything else.
They’ve set up this command center to ensure everything goes to plan – and fighter jets will patrol the skies overhead. A big concern this year is drones – so authorities have set up a 30-mile wide no drone zone.
Meanwhile on TV – each 30-second ad you see during the game cost the advertisers 7 million dollars.
Sound: “a very common question is, is it worth it?”
Sound: “during the Super Bowl, most consumers are excited about the commercials. They want to talk about the commercials… So as a marketer, you’re paying for massive reach coupled with consumers who are interested in discussing and watching the ads.”
At halftime, Rhianna will take the stage in her very first Super Bowl performance.
She’ll follow Chris Stapleton, who’s kicking things off with the star spangled banner at the beginning of the game. As for the game itself… right now the Eagles are favored to win over the Chiefs.
Kickoff is at 6:30 on Sunday on Fox.
Headlines
Here’s what else is making news right now.
As of yesterday, the death toll from that earthquake in Turkey and Syria now stands at over 20,000. As relief efforts on the ground continue, local authorities estimate that millions of people still need shelter.
Disney is going to get a little bit smaller. After profits fell and the CEO was replaced by the former CEO, the company announced it’s cutting 7,000 jobs as it reorganizes to try to save money.
And – a daughter may have saved her parents’ business with TikTok. Jennifer Le posted this 7 second video of her parent’s empty Vietnamese restaurant, which now has over a million views and – the restaurant is packed.
