Bombshell report: Trump was told in May his name is in the Epstein files

The Wall Street Journal revealed Wednesday that Trump was informed months ago that his name appeared in the Jeffrey Epstein files—and that’s when the Justice Department wrapped its review of the case and quietly tried to make the story disappear.
THE DETAILS: According to the Journal, Attorney General Pam Bondi told Trump in May that his name came up repeatedly in their review of the case.
They also report Trump was told the files contain many other high-profile figures—though being mentioned in the files does not necessarily imply wrongdoing.
Trump’s response? He said he’d “defer” to DOJ’s decision to not release more files—because they contain child pornography and victim info. Convenient.
THE BACKGROUND: Trump’s close relationship with Epstein is well-known—public photos, quotes, and flight logs confirm their relationship.
But this marks the first time it's been reported that Trump’s name was officially in the reviewed records.
It was after that meeting that DOJ tried to quietly close the book on the Epstein affair—despite the fact he had over a thousand victims. But that turned out only to be the start of a new chapter.
AND NOW? The administration is trying to quiet the storm—and the Democrats are seeking justice.
Today, the DOJ is set to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s “madame,” who’s currently serving time in Florida. Her team claims she has “new evidence”—but critics say she's angling for leniency or even a pardon from Trump. She’s also been subpoenaed by the House Oversight committee.
Meanwhile, the House Oversight Committee—thanks to support from three Republicans including Nancy Mace—also issued subpoenas to the DOJ for the files. The measure, introduced by Democrats, only passed when three Republicans flipped, including Nancy Mace.
WHY THIS MATTERS: The system is protecting a powerful man who was sexually abusing young girls with other rich and powerful men. Don’t his victims deserve the truth? The government means to tell us abused a thousand girls—and acted completely alone?
The American people demand to know the truth. The American people demand justice.

Hegseth’s Signal messages came from email classified ‘SECRET’
It is truly insane that this ranks as a minor incident in today’s world. The Washington Post says messages Pete Hegseth posted on Signal originated from a classified email marked SECRET/NOFORN. That means sharing it was likely a serious national security breach. Critics say it exposes how recklessly Trumpworld handles state secrets—unless they're Epstein's. Full story from The Washington Post.
Court blocks Trump’s birthright ban—again
A second federal court just stopped Trump’s executive order to end birthright citizenship, calling it unconstitutional and harmful to states. Last month the Supreme Court ruled that courts had limited power to issue nationwide injunctions, and this most recent ruling said such an injunction was necessary. So birthright citizenship stays in place—for now. Full story from The Hill.
Surprise! U.S. car makers say Japan tariffs will hurt more than help
Trump is touting his new 15% tariff deal with Japan as a win—but U.S. automakers say it gives Japanese firms a competitive edge while sticking them with higher steel and parts costs. Industry leaders warn it could hurt jobs in battleground states like Michigan. Meanwhile, Japan gets a stable deal—and $550B in promised investments—while U.S. workers get whiplash. Workers at Boston’s Fenway park are ready to strike: “we make this ballpark run”
Hot dog vendors, beer pourers, and hospitality staff at Fenway Park say enough is enough. With no contract, low pay, and automation threats looming, they’re preparing to walk off the job this weekend during the Red Sox-Dodgers series. Their message: if Fenway’s a Boston institution, the people who make it run deserve to live here too. Full story from WGBH Boston.

Five things you can do to help Gaza right now
Right now, the Israeli government is starving Gaza to death. It can feel overwhelming—like there's nothing we can do.
But there are things we can do—and every action, no matter how small, makes a difference.
WHAT’S GOING ON: Aid groups are warning of mass starvation in Gaza thanks to Israel’s refusal to allow food and other supplies into the territory.
Israel relented in mid-May from a ten-week, complete blockade only after aid groups warned of an impending famine.
Since then, despite promises to let in more aid, Israel has failed to do so.
The AP reports Israel is only letting in around 13 trucks of aid in per day—far below the 500-600 per day the U.N. says are needed.
THE RESULT: So far, the World Health Organization says ten Palestinians have died due to famine and malnutrition over the past 24 hours, while more than 70 children have died from malnutrition in Gaza since the beginning of the year.
WHAT YOU CAN DO: But it doesn’t have to be like this. This famine is not from a natural disaster—it’s completely human-made—and funded by our tax dollars.
Here are five things you can do right now to help end this evil:
Today is the Global Fast for Gaza. The Palestinian Youth Movement has called on the world to participate in a one-day fast to show solidarity with the starving people of Gaza. Fast with us, and remember when you feel the pain of hunger, thousands of Palestinians haven’t eaten for weeks. Show your solidarity on social media with these graphics from PYM.
Tomorrow is a Global Day of Action. In addition to the global fast, the PYM has called for a global day of action on Friday. Right now there are protests planned for the DC area, Dallas, LA, and others. If you can’t make it Friday, this page from the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights is regularly updated with upcoming in-person actions.
Call your members of Congress to pressure Israel into letting more aid into Gaza. You can find their telephone numbers here. Speak from the heart. Tell them you think it’s unconscionable that human beings are being starved to death with our tax dollars. Pro tip: If you’d rather not speak to someone, call after hours and leave a voicemail.
Post on social media. It may seem like a trivial thing—but it’s not. You may be able to reach people that aren’t paying attention because the algorithm is serving them cat videos or clips from Breaking Bad. You can find great stuff to share on Facebook from Jewish Voice for Peace.
Donate money if you can. Groups like the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Doctors Without Borders, and World Central Kitchen have worked to deliver critical aid to Palestinians—including food, medical care, and other essentials. These are reputable, independent organizations focused on saving lives, not taking political sides.
Remember—every little bit helps. Keep up the pressure.
A NOTE ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA: You may be hesitant to post on social for fear of angry comments from either side.
You can always defuse a situation by reminding people this isn’t about politics—this is simply about getting suffering civilians food. That’s it.
It’s not a statement about Israel or Hamas. Just helping people.
🗳️ Yesterday’s poll results
Yesterday we asked, how much do you care about the Epstein story?

Kat voted a lot and said: “I want his cult followers to see what they truly voted for a criminal of the worst kind.”
Beachluva also voted a lot: “I want this to take TacoMan and others pedophiles down!!! He is vile with no morals or moral character, and is ruining our country because of it! Mike Johnson calls himself a Christian?! What a farce! No true Christian would protect pedophiles. In fact, no true Christian would do half the things he’s doing! He is also a disgrace.”
Bonnie voted not at all: “Trump has already been convicted for his sexual escapades. There is no point in pursuing it! I cannot believe that so many people give a s*** about this. What is the worst that could happen? Convict him again??? We should be paying attention to several more important issues!”
